S'mores Milkshakes

Would you believe me if I said I never had a s’more until I was just about ready to enter 6th grade? I kind of feel like Smalls in that regard, but I remember it vividly. We drove my sister down to her first year of college and there was some kind of orientation event that evening and my s’mores cherry was taken by some female college upperclassmen. I was in love.

What is it about s’mores that just makes people go bonkers? I know I get happier when I suggest a firepit and s’mores night to my daughters. Ha, suggest. Like I’d have to actually convince anyone to eat a s’more! In fact, even when I just say “time to firepit”, the retort is always “can we do s’mores, too?! Admittedly, I don’t always have the stuff on hand. But, what about people who aren’t camping, or who don’t have a fire pit, or even a grill, or it’s too damn hot...or, if like it is right now, raining on National S’mores Day?! I offer you the S’mores Shake!

S’mores Shake

  • Graham crackers

  • Marshmallow fluff

  • Vanilla ice cream (don’t let the ice cream soften too much)

  • Milk

  • Chocolate syrup

  • Marshmallows

  • Hershey’s chocolate bar

Place some graham crackers in a ziplock bag and smash into crumbs with your fists. Place the crumbs into a shallow bowl or dish.

Dip your glasses about an inch deep into a container of marshmallow fluff and place into the graham cracker crumbs to make a graham cracker crust ring. Set the glasses aside.

In a large blender combine about 4 cups of ice cream, 2/3 cup of milk and about a cup of marshmallow fluff. Process until smooth. Reserve.

Place 1 scoop of ice cream into each of the prepared glasses. Then drizzle chocolate syrup down the insides of the glass. Pour in the milkshake from the blender, leaving some room at the top of the glass.

Top the milkshakes with 2 marshmallows. Using a handheld blowtorch, toast the marshmallows. If you don’t have a blowtorch (get one, they're super affordable and fun!), place the marshmallows on some foil and place under the broiler.

Garnish with some chocolate and graham cracker pieces and serve.
