Truth be told, I was going to make croissants and post them yesterday, in honor of National Croissant Day. But, just watching the 30 minute tutorial video stressed me out and made me tired. This past calendar year has been a somewhat stressful one at work (working long days, nights, weekends and even the occasional holiday) and, now that work has slowed down this month, I’m trying to take it as easy as possible and to reset my mind. I wanted 1 day this weekend to just completely veg-out and do nothing and that was on Sunday. It was wonderful.
Similarly, here on the blog, I didn’t want the added stress of baking, puff pastry, and a days-long project. So, I went super easy and made a Brandy Alexander. Sure, it’s “dry January” and this is my 4th cocktail of the month; but, I’ve always been anti-trend. Plus, it doesn’t get much easier than this delicious drink. Of course, I could’ve dumped everything into a shaker and poured it out. But, sometimes you need to make things look pretty, especially when you have a food blog!
Brandy Alexander
1 oz Creme de Cacao
1.5 oz Brandy
½ oz heavy cream
Fancy way: Fill a tumbler (or mixing glass) with ice. Add in the liqueur and liquor and give a stir to thoroughly chill.
Pour the contents into a small glass (or coupe), through a strainer, and slowly pour the cream on top.
Easy way: Fill a tumbler (or mixing glass) with ice and all of the ingredients. Shake for about 20-30 seconds and pour through a strainer into a small glass (or coupe).
