Enjoy your lazy Sunday with this Azalea-inspired cocktail for the Masters

I hope you’ve all been enjoying “Masters Week”. I mean, what’s not to love? First, there’s the tranquil music, then you’re greeted by one of the best announcers in sport, Jim Nance, with a welcoming “hello, friends” that just puts you at ease. The scenery is magnificent, and the roaring crowds let you know something amazing has happened at one of the neighboring holes. It’s also the first golf major of the season and is a sure sign that Spring is also right around the corner…amen, indeed! Speaking of spring and beautiful scenery, one of the signature optics at the Masters, outside of the champion’s green jacket, are the blooming Azalea’s and the subject of today’s blog-post. This drink takes on the color of those beautiful flowering bushes and hits all the right notes of spring in Georgia: sweet, light, with a little punch of lemon like a signature Tiger fist shake after sinking a much-needed birdie on a Sunday afternoon in Augusta. Enjoy, friends!

Azalea Cocktail

  • Vodka

  • Pineapple juice

  • Lemon

  • Grenadine

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Then pour in 2 oz each of vodka and pineapple juice, followed by 1 oz. of freshly squeezed lemon juice, and a splash of grenadine.

Put the top on and shake for 30 seconds until the container is frosty.

Pour through the strainer into a coupe and garnish with a lemon wheel.
